POST! #GoogleMyBusiness

Google has just added a new twist to their GMB platform that makes posting to your listing even more important than before.

One huge aspect of our Google My Business optimization service is to publish quality, industry specific posts several times a week to your listing. Before this particular update, Google would set your posts to expire after 7 days. Now, your GMB posts will be visible in your Knowledge Panel for the long-term.

These posts are a great way to communicate valuable information about your business, community, and any updates, such as COVID-19 provisions.

The update seems to have also affected any older photos that you’ve uploaded. These images will also be shown by default in your agency’s Knowledge Panel.

Since Google Posts were created, this feature has been known by the pros as a way to engage searchers from the jump. With that said, only two-thirds of marketing agencies offer Posts as a part of their GMB service.

The more relevant, engaging Google Posts your business’s Knowledge Panel showcases, the more signs of life you’ll be showing to potential customers as well to Google. Think of it as a way to show your personality, communicate updates, and share new information about your team.

When considering an agency to optimize and manage your Google My Business listing, consider if they offer Posts as a part of their plan. If they don’t…keep looking. We have had Posts as a part of both our Level 1 and Level 2 packages. Please give us a call today to discuss how we can help you and your agency grow with SEO!
